I am nearing the end of my half marathon training as October 13th, my race day, is quickly approaching. Honestly I never thought that I would ever be able to run a mile, much less 13.1, so my head likes to play a lot of tricks on me. Today was was my last long run day before the race. It was 8.5 miles of wanting to quit. I know I can do the 13.1, so my mind was asking me why today's run was so important? I thought," I don't need this, just quit. You are tired and deserve a day off. You are prepared." I almost let it talk me in to calling Matt and getting a ride home, but I didn't. It was struggle, but I made it. I can do this! Bring it on runs, I'm gonna finish the 13.1 with a BANG!
Happy first day of October!
