love your job

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
-Confucius-

I have an amazing job. As a massage therapist and hairstylist I get to make people look beautiful and feel better each and every day. It is such a rewarding career. I love helping people and making their day a little brighter with a new do or a little relaxation. Everyone deserves a good spa day!

Today I got to massage two sisters who were in their 70's. One of their daughters overheard them talking last fall about how fun it would be to go get a massage, so she got them gift certificates for Christmas this year. This was their first massage ever so there was much anticipation about what it would be like. I carefully explained all the details of getting on the table and what I would work on in their session. When I started the session they both told me they were in heaven and that a massage had been on their "bucket list" for years. Isn't that amazing?!?! I got to help them fulfill a bucket list item. Too cool.

For my generation, massages are a part of life. For those two ladies generation massages weren't common at all, much less would they spend the money to get one. So this was a major deal for them. When you do your job day in and day out it just becomes routine. When I have customers come in with stories like this, it makes me remember how amazing my job really is. I get to help people and that is what life is all about. Helping others and making their day a little brighter.

This job of mine isn't like a job at all. It's a day of doing something I love. Helping others. I hope you are in a job you love, and if you aren't find one that you do!

xoxo
