May 18th is a very special day in our family. It's my mama's birthday! She was on a camping trip this weekend, so we celebrated the day after with a dinner at my house. I want to share with you a little bit about the woman who raised me, and how thankful I am to call her mom.
She taught me how to be a compassionate person; how to be gracious and kind. She showed me how to be a wonderful hostess, checking to make sure everyone was taken good care of. She told me how important it was to tell someone thank you with a card of appreciation or a note. She is the most genuinely sweet person you will ever meet. I don't ever recall a time in my childhood where she raised her voice at me or my sister. She taught me to always take care of myself: to always wash my makeup off before bed(cleanse, tone, moisturize), how to apply makeup and how to dress like a lady. When my mom, my sister and I are together we usually end up laughing until we cry. We get very silly at times. She taught me to be independent and to be an entrepreneur; to always stick to anything I commit myself to. She told me to always be early for anything I was going to and that it showed respect for others when doing so. I learned so much from this beautiful lady, and I this is why I am so thankful to call her mom.
