California Roadtrip: Part One

I am so excited to share with you some pictures from our trip to California in December. We were flying out to attend my cousins wedding in La Jolla, so we decided to fly into San Francisco a few days early and take a road trip down Highway 1 to San Diego. We had about 4 days to break up the drive, so we took our time soaking in the beautiful coastline. Around every curve there was another breathtaking photo opportunity. I am going split our trip into several blog posts so you don't get overwhelmed with pictures(I took a ton!).

First on our agenda was to head to 17 Mile Drive where Pebble Beach and the Lone Cypress are located. It was a beautiful drive and we got to see all kinds of wildlife. We saw a Beechy Ground Squirrel that I actually thought was just a fat little squirrel that the tourist had been feeding, but I was wrong. He was so cute and not afraid of anything! On a rock out in the ocean were hundreds of Sea Lions playing around and sun bathing.

The Lone Cypress is thought to be around 250 years old. It is one of the worlds most photographed trees. I read that it was scared by fire and has been held up by wires for 65 years. It's amazing that it has been there for so long. So much history in one little tree.
